GENERAL INFORMATION

BOOKING NOTICE PERIOD:

Our availability is determined by a commitment to quality, not quantity. Therefore we strictly limit the number of commissions undertaken in any period. Early enquiry / booking is therefore very advisable and we suggest providing as much notice as possible (ideally 6 months or more). The typical minimum booking notice is 3 months. Under exceptional circumstances, notice of less than 3 months may be possible. In such instances, please contact us forthwith and we will do our utmost to accommodate.

PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS:

Consultations are chargeable (starting from £75). The consultation cost is subsequently deducted from our quote.

A non-refundable deposit of £500 is payable at the point of booking.

The outstanding balance is due 6 weeks prior to the wedding date.

In the unusual event of a cake being ordered with less than 6 weeks’ notice, payment will be required in full upon confirmation of the order.

CAKE DESIGN ALTERATIONS / DATE CHANGES / CANCELLATION:

Design alterations after the booking can be requested up to (but no later than) 6 weeks before the wedding. If the alteration affects the cost (time and/or materials) then the outstanding balance will be advised & adjusted accordingly. Changes are solely at the discretion of By Yevnig.

Changes within 6 weeks of the wedding date are generally not permitted.

In the unfortunate event of a wedding-date change, we will do our utmost to accommodate. Due to the artisan nature of our business, it may not be possible to move the booking.

Cancellations must be made in writing and confirmed By Yevnig 6 weeks or more prior to event and will forfeit any deposit.

Cancellation between 6 and 4 weeks prior to the wedding; 75% of the balance will be refunded.

Cancellation between 4 and 3 weeks prior to the event; 50% of the balance will be refunded.

Cancellation between 3 and 2 weeks prior to the event; 25% of the balance will be refunded.

Cancellation in the final 2 weeks prior to the event is non-refundable.

CAKES DECORATED WITH FRESH FLOWERS:

If a cake design requires fresh flowers, the client’s florist will typically supply these to us. We liaise directly with the florist regarding specific floral requirements and will decorate the cake with the flowers on site. NB. Please note some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.

CAKES DECORATED WITH NON-EDIBLE MATERIALS:

The use of non-edible materials for cake decoration is becoming increasingly popular. Please note that if agreed as part of the design, any ‘craft jewels’ and accessories such as brooches, ribbons, silk flowers, diamantes, beads, feathers, etc. must be removed from your cake prior to serving

CAKE STORAGE:

Cakes need to be stored in a cool, dark place (not in the fridge). Sponge cakes will stay fresh for 3-4 days after delivery, fruit cakes can last for several months.

ALLERGIES AND SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

Our kitchen regularly handles many varieties of cakes and other baked goods which may contain common allergens such as gluten & nuts, therefore we cannot guarantee to provide trace-free products. Please discuss any specific requirements with us.
