In the heart of London’s exclusive Mayfair, a truly beautiful floral installation stands testament to a wonderful creative collaboration between renowned floral designer, Neill Strain, and artisan cake designer Yevnig, showcasing the art of floral weddings…
The Collaboration
It was a delight to receive the invitation to design two custom wedding cakes for Neill Strain’s Floral Couture boutique on Davies Street, nestled just off Berkeley Square in Mayfair. As bridal couture, architectural elegance and floral beauty are all integral to my design ethos, being asked by Neill to showcase my artistry alongside his exquisite florals has been a true honour.
Together, our combined near-30 years of experience in the wedding and events industry resonate beautifully. We share a profound dedication to providing our clients unparalleled service and are equally enthusiastic about crafting bespoke experiences for our international couples who marry in prestigious venues worldwide.
And so, in celebration of luxury weddings throughout the month of April in Mayfair and beyond, coinciding with the ‘Mayfair Wedding Guide’, our collaboration culminated in a beautiful floral window installation showcasing the marriage of skill and artistry of the florist with that of the cake artisan.
The Vision
Working alongside Neill’s vision for his incredible floral arrangements, I developed the designs for the two wedding cakes – ‘Ethereal Roses’ in homage to Neill’s fine floral couture with my signature handcrafted sugar flowers, and ‘Versailles Chic’ a heartfelt celebration of my deep appreciation for historic buildings and fine art.
Complimenting the elegant soft pastel colour scheme from the fresh blousy garden-style roses in beautiful tones of blush pink, apricot and creams, both showstopping cakes feature hand-crafted Sugar Roses, Sweet Peas and Orchids in a delightfully harmonious palette. Accents of gold further enhance the beauty of the cake design just as tiny lights ethereally dance throughout the floral installation.
